Role Description
We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Associate to support our manufacturing and office operations. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities Operations, you will be responsible for making sure our Somerville, MA facility runs smoothly as well as supporting our technical operations. The ideal candidate will be both able to independently execute day-to-day operations and maintenance activities as well as be willing to roll up their sleeves to quickly tackle facility service and repair issues. You will work closely with all members of the Form Energy team to provide a great and safe place to work. What You'll Do:
Perform equipment troubleshooting, repair and root cause on R&D Manufacturing equipmentLearn the building management system and perform routine checks and monitor the system, clear alarms, assess next steps, document actions, and communicate with all shiftsDevelop and track equipment preventative maintenance schedules using a cloud-based organizational toolExecute basic facilities maintenance and improvement tasks in support of technical development and office usersPerform safety walkthrough and inspections including eyewashes, fire extinguishers, first aid cabinets, AED, etc.Maintain clean rugs and mats assuring 3rd party vendor appropriately replaces on scheduleInspects facility for leaks in walls and ceilings after rain, wind, and snow eventsMaintain safe surfaces inside and outside the facility (snow removal, wet floor caution, etc) Interface with engineering team for guidance and direction on maintaining R&D equipmentPlan and execute the maintenance of facility installations such as installing water distribution, adding airlines, maintaining loading docks, compressors, furnace, water coolers, safety equipment, and manufacturing equipment as neededPerform basic maintenance of facilities equipment such as ladders, palettes, doors, locks, drains, lighting, etc.Assemble and install facility furniture/equipment as requestedOccasionally relocate items throughout the building including moving furniture, palettes and appliancesAssist in security and safety needs of the organization What You'll Bring:
A person with a minimum of 5 years of experience who is willing to work the first, second or third shift with a minimum of supervisionExperience in manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and repairBasic material handling experience, hazmat and/or HAZWASTE experience requiredExperience doing hands-on work, building maintenance, and snow removalAbility to learn cloud-based organizational toolsExperience using hand tools and assembling equipment, securing wall-mounted equipment, and assembling furniture. A flexible person with the ability to shift gears quickly and come back to the original task as needed or assist in areas outside of experienceOrganized and detail-orientedStrong communication skills within a group of peers and the broader organizationStrong sense of teamwork and ability to share communication to the level of detail to prepare for the next shift with clear documentationAbility to safely operate an electric pallet jack and electric stackerAbility to lift 50 lbsComfortable with basic hand tools, experience with machine shop tools a plusTrades skills are a plus, HVAC or MEP experience a plus, electrical or HVAC certifications a plus
