We’re looking for a mat cover FTC role
This is an exciting opportunity to join us as Facilities & Business Support Lead, helping to create amazing environments for our people to thrive in, keeping our people safe, engaged and happy. Working across multiple sites with multiple requirements, leading the day to day running while managing projects for any additional requirements. Working alongside the People Team to support Vertical in engagement events and wellbeing activities. Mentoring the business admin apprentice and shaping our future facilities strategy – ensuring we have the right sites for our people and business demands.
This role will have a few months working alongside our current Facilities and Business Support Lead to learn all about the role and help out with all ongoing projects.We're looking for someone with:

The responsibilities and duties of Facilities & Business Support Lead will be as follows:
Facilities Management
- Provide day-to-day management & support for all of our Vertical locations, this includes sites in Bristol (central and Filton) as well as Kemble. Responsible for keeping our buildings at a high standard, and identifying and arranging any necessary improvements
- Project managing new initiatives and property acquisitions as required by the business. Active involvement in supplier negotiations – property acquisition, property management, and contract management of suppliers
- Ensure all health and safety activities are completed across our sites (office and build locations) - working with our Head of HS&E to ensure all employees, contractors and visitors on site have followed correct processes (eg NDAs, RAMs, COVID, etc)
- Ensure timely completion of all legal and essential building maintenance (gas,
electricity, aircon, fire, cleaning etc) and active management of all facilities contracts to ensure best value for money and level of service – eg utilities, telephones, maintenance, cleaning, security etc
- Develop & manage ongoing security strategy and maintenance
- Line management to our business support and facilities apprentice - proactively shaping their development and widening their experience. Delegating where appropriate.
- Optimise our processes and procedures as required to ensure a consistent approach to all facilities management activities
- Develop & maintain the facilities budget & rolling forecast and manage office stock to cover demand
- Develop our working environments in keeping with our company purpose and ways of working- using our spaces as an internal branding tool and supporting the wider employee experience
Operational and Administrative Support
- Manage the work of the Business Admin Apprentice, including daily supervision, reviewing performance, mentoring & liaise with their training provider
- Management of administrative and operational support to the management team when required and coordinating any business support
- Communicate key company messages through appropriate communication channels
- Work with the wider people team to arrange company events and socials, and manage the associated budget. Help with logistics for events and planning.
The successful Facilities & Business Support Lead will have the following Experiences & Qualifications:
- Previous experience of facilities management – particularly important to have experience across multiple sites
- Previous experience in an engineering setting is preferable but not essential
- Strong verbal, numeracy & communication skills
- Experience of ERP system & advanced Excel skills
- 1 years minimum operational experience on facilities services
- Experience with managing budgets, understanding general financial governance
- IOSH / NEBOSH minimum level required
- Health and safety awareness and training
- Risk assessment and work permit knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent organisation skills
