Engineering Process Manager - Processing line (H/F)

InnovaFeed is a biotech company that produces natural and sustainable ingredients for animal feed and plant nutrition from insect rearing (Hermetia illucens). 

We contribute to the growth of a high-quality fish farming sector by providing a new source of sustainable, natural and high-performance protein. We also produce high-quality insect oil than can be used in poultry and swine feed, as an alternative to imported oils. Our oil is rich in lauric acid, known for its anti-microbial properties. Finally, insect dejections are used as an organic fertilizer, closing the nitrogen loop in a circular way. 

InnovaFeeds’ innovating insect rearing process is deployed on an industrial scale to address the strain on natural resources in a responsible and sustainable way.

As the world leader in alternative animal proteins, Innovafeed contributes to the construction of a sustainable food system by developing a pioneering and innovative industry: the breeding and processing of insects (Hermetia Illucens fly).

- Dealing with global protein deficit by strengthening our food systems

Incorporated in 2016, Innovafeed manufactures and sells 3 different insect-based products:

· Insect protein for a more sustainable and qualitative aquaculture, especially for feeding salmon and trout 🐟

· Insect oil for feeding animals (like pig and poultry), in the context of sustainable farming respectful of animal welfare 🐤 

·  Insect feces used as an effective organic fertilizer 🌱

The mission of the engineering team is at the heart of Innovafeed's Industrial project. Its role is to design, build, start up Innovafeed's production plants, as well as to continue to develop the latest and greatest technology to industrialize insect production. 

 

Within the Engineering team, your role will be to: 

 

- Participate in the ambitious industrial deployment of Innovafeed in Europe and internationally ;

- Actively contribute to the industrialization of an innovative and disruptive production system, in order to help us achieve our ambitious large-scale impact goals;

- Reach a new horizon in vertical farming technology and efficiency.

 

More specifically, you will join the Processing Line team and report to the Engineering Processing Director. 

You will be in charge of: 

- Designing the processing/rendering lines of Innovafeed production sites during conceptual and basic design phases. You will select the technologies and the process to meet the target performances in terms of Operating Costs, Capital Expenditures, Product Quality, bacteriological and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with Innovafeed R&D, Product Development, Sales and Operational Excellence teams. 

- On new products, you will contribute to the validation of the business case, bringing the process inputs. 

- Managing Project downstream conceptual and basic design phases. You will be leading the bid phases and selecting Innovafeed partners for project execution. You will then manage these partners and external stakeholders during the detailed design, manufacturing and execution. 

- Improving current processing lines through incremental optimizations in order to increase Product Quality and/or line performances. You will manage revamping and optimization projects on running production sites. 

 

You have a Master's degree and at least 3 years of experience in Food industry or Agri-Food Engineering with a strong interest in innovation and industrial process development. You have good interpersonal skills and enjoy being in contact with different stakeholders.
