Job Description
- Manage a team of 3-7 engineers on the platform and infrastructure engineering team while participating as an engineer on this team
- Lead team to identify future risks to SINAI's platform and proactively mitigate them
- Help ensure that SINAI's infrastructure and product maintains high availability
- Help the team conduct post mortems and investigations for root cause of downtime and system failures
- Design and implement changes for scalability
- Expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new employees
- Define how the team evolves and interacts with the rest of SINAI
- Guide the articulation and execution of the roadmap of SINAI's infrastructure
- Coach engineers in their technical and professional development
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with 1+ years experience managing a technical team
- Prior experience building and operating distributed systems
- The rare mix of intelligence, charisma, integrity and technical skills that allow you to rapidly earn the trust of a technically astute team
- Ability to provide valuable input to any technical or product discussion
- Willing and able to dive into the code yourself
- Focused on maximizing impact for yourself, your team, and SINAI as a whole
- Equipped with the intelligence, empathy, integrity, and technical chops required to quickly earn the trust of a technically savvy team
- Oriented around the multi-year consequences of your decisions
- Comfortable with ambiguity; you enjoy figuring out what needs to be done—and then doing it
Bonus Skills:
- Experience building enterprise SaaS platforms
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Typescript, and Node.js
- Experience developing financial, scientific and/or analytics software
- Demonstrated attention to detail
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
