Electrify Britain is a groundbreaking initiative launched by EDF and Octopus Energy to drive the widespread electrification of the UK. Our mission is to make energy cheaper, more secure, and drive economic growth through electrification.
Electrification is crucial to achieving net zero emissions. Currently, transport accounts for 23% of UK emissions, and domestic heating contributes 15%. By transitioning to electric vehicles and electrified homes, we can dramatically cut these emissions and reduce household energy costs.
The Leader of Electrify Britain will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, managing day-to-day operations, and driving the organisation's mission and objectives. The ideal candidate will be an experienced campaigner with a deep passion for electrification, a strong background in advocacy, and the ability to inspire and lead a dynamic team.
We’re looking for someone who isn’t just a leader, but a visionary and strategic thinker who’s proactive and results focused. Imagine an inspiring person who can build consensus and drive collective action with ease. Resilient and adaptable, you’ll navigate complex challenges and uncertainties with confidence and composure.
But there’s probably some things you should know…
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a senior leadership role within advocacy, campaigning, or non-profit organisations. Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success.
