ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position will be within Fluence’s software engineering team working on the Nispera Asset Performance Management (APM) platform. The role will be based in Fluence’s global innovation center in Bangalore and will report to the Nispera software engineering team located in India and Europe. The platform is designed to monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of renewable energy assets, spanning various technologies (Wind, Solar, Hydro and Battery Storage) leveraging fully automated data acquisition and AI-driven computational algorithms.
As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the data science and software engineering teams in complex data wrangling tasks. Besides programming and setting up automated data pipelines, you will also design and develop data models as well as refine and maintain the data lake of the APM platform.
Key responsibilities include
•Design, develop, optimize, and document data models and data pipelines for the APM platform.
•Support data scientists by efficiently extracting, transforming, cleaning, filtering, and preparing data, while ensuring data validation, quality checks, and synchronization.
•Maintain and develop relational, document and in-memory databases.
•Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity.
•Formulate, suggest, and manage data-driven projects to contribute to the strategic objectives of the APM software.
Must have
•BSc or higher in computer science or a related field.
•5+ years of professional experience in either software engineering or data engineering.
•Solid programming skills in Python . Any other language a plus.
•Hands-on experience in relational database administration.
•Experience with AWS, in-memory databases and Amazon S3.
•Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build solid working relationships — from individual contributors to executives.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to have
•Hands-on experience in understanding of MLOps and DataOps.
•Knowhow and prior experience with Machine learning.
•Knowledge in renewable energy markets and utility scale battery technology.
•Experience with agile frameworks, preferably Scrum.
