As a Control Systems Technician, you will carry out assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems infrastructure and equipment. You will be responsible for both low-voltage control wiring and higher-voltage power wiring and will work on a variety of internally-developed and third-party systems and machines. You will work closely with Controls Engineers on the Manufacturing team, as well as both technicians and engineers from a variety of adjacent working groups.

You will be based on-site at our facility in Devens, MA, and will report to our Automation Controls & Equipment Engineer. Up to 20% travel may be required for this position.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assemble control systems infrastructure and install third-party equipment such as power meters, pumps, and pressure sensors
  • Wire, test, and troubleshoot control panels and individual electrical subcomponents
  • Read and mark up electrical schematics
  • Follow company and industry workmanship standards for assembly and electrical work
  • Follow Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures as-needed
  • Set up and troubleshoot simple ethernet communications networks
  • Pick up and learn new pieces of software for interfacing with and configuring devices such as vision sensors, data acquisition units, HMIs, and laser profilometers

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with the basic concepts of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and networking
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and Industry Codes (OSHA, NFPA, NIST)
  • Knowledge of proper wiring and cabling standards and techniques (Clean termination, ferruling, grounding & bonding, strain relief, etc.)
  • Experience working with and installing components such as laser sensors, proximity sensors, gas flow and pressure sensors, vision systems, motors, pumps, and VFDs

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
