We are looking for a Configuration and Change Engineer who will:

Support the Configuration Control Manager with implementation and management of our Product Configuration through a Change Management process and infrastructure within 3DEx Platform, supporting the company with its standards, policies and processes supporting Airworthiness and Quality Management System. The ideal candidate will have a strong ‘hands-on’ engineering skills and team work ethic, who is able to take on a wide range of challenges and responsibilities across multiple streams of work. Be adaptable in a fast-moving environment, with the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of developing the PLM system, and who can identify innovative solutions to properly implement the various company strategies.

You will also be responsible for the application of robust development, build and release baselines and associated documentation for the full Development and Production Lifecycle of the company's expanding product range.

Reporting to the Head of Product Lifecycle Management and working with the Configuration Control Manager and Engineering team, the Configuration and Change Engineer functions as an auditor and integrator for the Product Data Management and Product Lifecycle Management tools.

 

The responsibilities and duties of the Configuration and Change Engineer will be as follows:

  • Support the Configuration Control Manager with implementation of the Configuration Management process, including Configuration Identification, Change Management, Auditing and Status Accounting
  • Organise and Document the decisions from Change Control Board meetings
  • Raise and process Change Requests in the PLM tool, ensuring workflow status is correctly applied and Changes are Documented
  • Co-ordinate and help document the impact analysis and closure of Change requests in PLM, supporting the Change Leader
  • Support the Configuration Control Manager in providing Configuration and Change Status account reports, analytics and maintain the visual management dashboard
  • Support the Engineering function and project team in the identification and proper processing of Configuration Items
  • Under the direction of the Configuration Control Manager and in accordance with Change Board decisions, apply effectivity management to the DMU
  • Provide Coaching and Guidance to Engineering and other functional users in the use of PLM toolset to view DMU configurations and Change Data
  • Support and take part in the execution of Supplier functional and physical Configuration Audits as required by project
  • Support Configuration Audits from both internal stakeholders and by external regulatory agencies
  • Apply your experience to help develop the next generation of PLM tools and processes

 

The successful Configuration and Change Engineer will have the following Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Higher Education (minimum BTEC or HNC) in Engineering or equivalent in related field, or 5+ years related experience
  • Familiarity with Airworthiness Regulations EASA Pt21 Subpart J (21.A.239)
  • Awareness of wider standards such ISO10007
  • Demonstrable CM domain experience in a regulated environment (preferably Aerospace)
  • Hands-on knowledge and user experience of lifecycle management tools
  • Experience utilising databases to manage technical and engineering data
  • Ability to review and assess data integrity against standards, and train others to understand and adhere to those standards
  • Effective communicator and facilitator
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Assist in the preparation of effective reports and presentations
  • Familiarity with Dassault 3D Experience platform.
  • Experience managing files and 3D Modelling using PDM and PLM systems
  • Experience of fast paced Development and or Prototype programmes.
  • Exposure to Configuration control of products with embedded software.
  • CMII Certified
