We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief of Staff to play a pivotal role in shaping the future Rondo Energy. As a strategic partner to senior leadership and department heads, you will be responsible for focusing the business on what matters most. This fast-paced role will require you to touch all aspects of the company, synchronizing different departments and individuals around core business objectives.  

The Chief of Staff will be a confident leader with a proven track record of creating structure in a complex operational environment and successfully managing executive-level stakeholders. Their exceptional people management skills, business acumen, and ability to navigate cross-functional challenges will be instrumental in elevating our organization to new heights.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to): 

  • Serve as an extension of the executive team, improving their ability to track and manage everything that’s happening in the business, from day-to-day operations to long term strategic initiatives
  • Focus and prioritize the executive team’s attention, ensuring they are spending their time effectively and efficiently on the business’s most important needs
  • Create operating rhythms & structure for the executive team that support efficient communication and robust decision making
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring a deep understanding of current business issues and opportunities
  • Be the executive team’s eyes and ears: keep a pulse on what’s happening in the organization, surfacing concerns before they develop into broader problems
  • Collaborate with operational leaders and stakeholders to develop, track, and manage OKRs, ensuring alignment with business plans and operational goals
  • Oversee the successful execution of leadership team and board meetings, including the preparation of relevant documents, briefing materials, and communications
  • Lead executive-level strategic initiatives, from conception through execution
  • Be a culture carrier. As a proxy for the executive team, set the tone for what it means and feels like to work at Rondo

 

What You Will Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA is preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic planning, business operations, or a related field, preferably in the renewable energy sector or a related industry
  • Proven track record of successfully leading organization-wide initiatives, driving change, and enhancing operational performance
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Experience in developing and tracking OKRs and KPIs and managing organizational change and transformation efforts
  • Passion for the renewable energy industry and a commitment to driving sustainable business practices

 

Bonus Points:  

  • Previous experience as a Chief of Staff 
  • A background in sustainability, ESG, carbon markets, or similar  
  • Experience in scaling technology companies through multiple stages of growth, demonstrating a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with rapid expansion
  • Experience in a hardware manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of related operational processes, supply chain management, and product development

This role necessitates being on-site at our Alameda HQ 5 days per week. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $150,000 to $190,000 and it would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above plus additional compensation in the form of equity. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.
