BETA Technologies is creating an electric transportation ecosystem that’s safe, reliable and sustainable. A relentlessly focused team is building an extensive charging infrastructure and ALIA, the world’s most technologically advanced electric vertical aircraft (EVA).
BETA’s platform and products are strikingly simple. Prioritization of safety and a pragmatic approach to certification drive elegant redundancy, appropriate diversity of implementation and simplicity of control. ALIA’s fixed-pitch propellers and centrally located batteries make it an inherently stable aircraft that is safe to fly and easy to maneuver.
The ideal Certification Engineer candidate has a BS in a relevant engineering discipline and has 5+ years certification experience working with the FAA, EASA or other regulatory agencies on type certification programs for aircraft, rotorcraft and/or engines.
The candidate should have expertise with aircraft regulations (14 CFR Part 21, 23, 27, 33, and/or 36 are strongly desired), regulatory guidance and policy, means of compliance approaches, and type certification processes.
The candidate should be comfortable working with a team of fellow certification engineers, DER’s, systems engineers, and other design engineers and providing critical design feedback as relates to safety and certification concerns. The candidate should expect to contribute as a team member to plan, build, and manage the certification strategy, artifacts and timelines.
Your primary responsibility will be to work with a team of fellow engineers to plan, build, and manage the certification process.
This will include review of current generation hardware, electrical and mechanical designs for various projects and aircraft systems. You will work with design engineers to add additional protections for our existing prototypes and new designs.
Those projects will include: eVTOL certification, drone model UAS certification, and ground base recharge infrastructure.
