About the role

Muon seeks an Assembly, Integration, and Test Lead to join our team.  The ideal candidate is hands-on, experienced with unit-level to spacecraft-level integration and test, environmental test, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.  This role will be located onsite at our headquarters in Mountain View, CA at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans in collaboration with design engineers
  • Create, maintain and communicate detailed staffing plans and schedules, ensuring the team is aware of tasks and deadlines, including resource identification and acquisition
  • Management of day-to-day of unit-level and system-level integration and test operations
  • Build and manage a team of exceptional engineers and technicians to reliably and repeatably deliver spacecraft for our customers 
  • Supervise and conduct spacecraft mechanical, electrical, and software integration and test operations
  • Define strategies and processes for concurrent manufacturing of distinct spacecraft product lines, ensuring that quality and schedule requirements are met for each program
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration
  • Work closely with peers in engineering, supply chain, and other departments to implement processes to improve the quality and speed of integration and test
  • Partner with Testbed engineers to maximize confidence in our ability to execute on a “test like you fly” strategy
  • Identify non-conformances and work with engineers to determine root cause and propose corrective actions
  • Work hands-on with flight hardware at build, test and launch sites to ensure mission success

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in system-level design, integration or testing of electrical hardware systems. A successful candidate will have previous experience delivering a hardware system or subsystem through the engineering lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to both perform AI&T tasks as well as lead a team of employees supporting AI&T
  • Experience with configuration management and tools such as PDM, PLM and MES
  • Ability to accurately estimate complexity and duration of AI&T tasks
  • Experience developing test plans and test procedures based on inputs from subject matter experts and responsible engineers
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Strong communication skills

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience with scripting and automated production test systems
  • Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environment
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and soldering equipment

ITAR/EAR Requirements

This position requires access to export controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must either be (A) a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, (B) eligible to access the export controlled information without a required export authorization, or (C) eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the required export authorization from the applicable U.S. government agency. The Company may, for legitimate business reasons, decline to pursue any export licensing process.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $100K- $200k and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
