Application Test Technician

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

ICON is looking for an Application Test Technician to support the performance and execution of Wall System Testing. You will ensure that all phases of a Wall System Test required by the test plan are performed, recorded, and reported.  You are the technical representative administering the test plans that test a Wall System's feasibility and performance, including our wall systems' structural designs, material properties, printability, and constructability.  This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to the Senior Testing Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execution and performance of the approved test plans
• Ensuring all assigned test plan steps are completed, and data is collected.
• Communicate daily the performance, results, and conclusions of a test to the Application (Wall System) Test Engineer.
• Work closely with the Architecture & Building Performance, Material Science,  and other engineering teams to execute test plans and provide documentation for post-test reports.
• Travel to ICON’s job sites may be required to support troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2+ years experience in related engineering or technician roles.

• Minimum 2+ years experience in operations of complex machinery or equipment.
• Complete ACI certification within the first six (6) months of employment
• Experience working with mechanical systems: pumps, gears, air compressors, pressure vessels, pneumatics, and lifting/rigging equipment.

Desired

• Technical degree, professional certification, or 5+ years experience in a related field.
• ACI-ICT EN Standards Concrete Field Testing Technician
• Reinforced Concrete Field Inspection Certification
• Experience in the construction or mechanical industry.
• Technical degree or professional certification.
• Prior experience in nuclear, aerospace, military/defense, or construction trades.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be prepared to work, in part, in extreme environments: temps > 100 degrees or below freezing, sun, rain, mud, lack of electricity, etc.
