Position: Agronomic GIS Associate, Remote

Pivot Bio is rapidly expanding its field trial network and growing its customer base, producing new sources of data for analysis. This data needs to be curated and its integrity assured in coordination with our customer-facing agronomy team. The Agronomic GIS Associate will work with a team to produce data and insights required to make strategic decisions. They will help coordinate the geospatial data collection efforts of the agronomy team, so that fast and insightful analyses can be provided to them. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Multiple analytics and project capabilities in GIS, Dashboards and Analytics in general
  • Build relationships with Pivot Bio agronomy team to facilitate quality data acquisition practices where needed 
  • Work with GIS tools to enhance analytics the company already has in other teams
  • Develop new GIS analytical capabilities to constantly level up the GIS work outcomes
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Agri-Business, analytics methods and tools, and GIS platforms to create an outstanding delivery to the customers
  • Track data ingest throughout the analytics process to ensure all data sets are accounted for and properly analyzed. 
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to analyze agronomic files and find answers to data questions
  • Drive various day-to-day operational tasks to meet business demands including but not limited to the analysis by itself, to ensure compliance and maintain business standards
  • Represent the company to customers in a professional manner consistent with a deep sense of responsibility to meet the delivery's deadlines
  • Provide general support to other members of the company and the customers

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • B.S. in STEM, with preference to an agronomy-related degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in data stewardship and research or production agriculture 
  • Proficiency with ESRI/ArcGIS, Tableau (or similar data visualization tools), and other industry-specific data management systems
  • Python experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and orientation to process 
  • Great communication skills 

 Other:

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, i.e., heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc. for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to drive or ride in a vehicle for long periods of time.
  • Seasonally the workday may be expanded to allow for tasks to be completed.
