As an Advanced Production Technician you will be a key part of Arrival's first Van Microfactory.

Whilst the basis of the role is defined, you will be involved with continual process improvement and development. Once the optimised production process is defined this model will be rolled out to future Microfactories all over the world.

You will start your Arrival journey within the Banbury R&D operations site. You will be required to be onsite daily and be hands-on with the vehicle build program.

You will move to the Bicester Microfactory where the processes and skills learned at Banbury will be utilised within the production environment. Once the Microfactory is fully operational, shift work will be required (Monday to Friday only)

We are hiring for the following stations; Interior, Exterior, Battery, Fluid fill or Sub axel

What you'll be doing

  • For the initial 6 months
  • Working as part of a team with the Banbury R&D build team
  • Correctly identify parts prior to fitting
  • Use DC & manual hand tools
  • You will follow detailed working instructions within the build manual, testing the processes and looking for areas of process optimisation. 
  • Use of measuring equipment including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, vernier calipers and micrometers
  • Data and progress recording within Arrival MES system
  • Once the Microfactory is operational
  • Work as part of a team in a general assembly cell 
  • Select parts from line side storage using various handling devices and overhead cranes where necessary
  • Build sub-assemblies directly onto fixtures
  • Loading and securing of wiring harnesses and electrical connections
  • Ensure H&S procedures are followed and adhered to at all times
  • Ensuring all work meets quality standards 

  • What you'll need

  • Automotive or Manufacturing experience
  • Attention to detail 
  • Happy working on your own or part of a team 
  • Have excellent time keeping skills 
  • Be able to work to a strict daily deadlines
  • Confident use of IT equipment
  • A willingness to learn new skills
  • Experience in the use of battery powered hands tools (DC)
  • Ability to use and read calibrated measuring equipment
  • A willingness to help others
