Your Role and your Team:

We are looking for an experienced Additive Manufacturing Technician who will be highly involved in the day-to-day manufacturing of Lilium’s revolutionary aircraft.

In this position you will report directly to the Manufacturing Lab. leader and will work on a variety of projects and tasks to support Lilium’s production organization.

As part of this role, you will be asked to use your expertise to provide support to different manufacturing departments as well as different engineers for the design and optimization of prototype and experimental parts using additive manufacturing. You will be asked to assist the workshop in creating work related documentation as well as work Instructions. You will also support the manufacturing engineering team by bringing efficient and lean solution for the manufacturing of the parts but also for tooling and fixture systems designs.

Your Day to Day:

  • Responsible for all activities in the additive manufacturing laboratory.
  • Independent set-up and operation of our additive manufacturing equipment.
  • Post processing of parts prior to delivery.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing engineering to improve designs and manufacturability.
  • Act as point of contact for questions regarding design for additive manufacturing.
  • Support Lilium with fast prototyping capabilities.
  • Troubleshooting and feedback of errors to the corresponding teams, cooperation for root cause analysis
  • Support project creation for the Manufacturing Lab 3D Printing capabilities.
  • Improve manufacturing standards and processes.
  • Support digital improvements and innovations while working with manufacturing execution systems.
  • Assist Manufacturing Lab team in development of tooling and new equipment commissioning and implementation.
  • Maintain daily records and prepare reports and test analyses.

Your Profile

  • Apprenticeship as industrial mechanic, cutting machine operator or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies, especially FDM, SLA and SLS
  • Good knowledge of most common manufacturing methods (Machining, Welding, Assembly, Additive Manufacturing)
  • Experience with production technical support and solution orientation.
  • Being able to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions depending on situation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience with the creation of project related documentation in relation with the fabrication of different parts and/or assemblies.
  • Experience with Siemens NX is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
  • Sense of entrepreneurship and solution oriented.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines and urgencies.
  • English language required, German language is a beneficial
