Beta is seeking an organized, motivated AP Manager to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of Beta’s payables process and provide leadership to our AP team members. The AP Manager will ensure that the department operates smoothly and maintains accurate and complete records. The individual will be responsible for payments to suppliers, lenders, and employees as well as for hiring, training, and supporting other AP team members. You will serve as a liaison between the AP department and external parties. To succeed as Beta’s AP Manager, you should be focused on optimizing department processes and building a lasting relationships with others inside and outside of the business. You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to handle the high-paced environment of an early-stage fast-growth company.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages, and other items, and to walk short distances. The position is not suitable for remote work.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Overseeing routine department activities, such as disbursing checks and processing payroll, to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information to Beta leadership as needed
  • Ensuring requests are accurately processed and approved in a timely manner
  • Building and maintaining relationships with employees, vendors, and lenders
  • Maintaining and improving the employee expense reimbursement program
  • Managing AP team members including hiring, training, assigning, and directing work-flow. Must always maintain a constructive, positive environment
  • Setting, facilitating, and achieving team and company objectives
  • Tracking and reporting 1099 information to vendors and suppliers
  • Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field preferred
  • 5 years of related experience, including 1-3 years in a lead or supervisory role 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of processing financial transactions in a complex, high-volume environment
  • Ability to understand complex scenarios and dissect the components in order to identify changes required and the impact of those changes
  • Highly driven self-starter with the ability to navigate complex issues in a fast-moving environment
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

  • Familiarity with: Google G-Suite (Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets), Expense Reporting Software (Concur), ERP Software (PLEX), Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and working with a multi-currency and multi-entity environment
  • Experience with AP Automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
