About the company:
Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction primarily software-defined and work towards a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are built within a single day with minimal labour.
We’re a growing team (about 70 team members) of mostly engineers and technicians, coming from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, 1X and Meta. It’s still the early days of building the company, and this is a unique opportunity to be an early employee in a high-growth, high-ambition startup environment. From Day 1, you’ll be able to work with an experienced founding team backed by top-tier investors.

About you and this role
We’re looking for a hands-on Workplace & Facilities Manager to take ownership of the daily functioning and long-term upkeep of our office and workshop spaces. You’ll play a key role in keeping Monumental and our very unique office running smoothly and will be responsible for making sure everything — and everyone — has what they need to do great work.
Our physical workspace reflects the complexity of what we do. We have a 3D printing farm, a fully equipped workshop, and indoor + outdoor testing spaces for robotic bricklaying in central Amsterdam, opposite Artis. We’ve lost count of how many deliveries we get in a day, and manage several subleased villas within our facility to other startups.
This is a physically active and varied role, ideal for someone with a few years of experience in facilities, logistics, or operations who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is both hands-on and wants real responsibility. You’ll report to our Operations Lead and collaborate with multiple teams — from deployment and robotics to people ops and office management.
You will keep our HQ running like clockwork. Think of it as the control room for our whole company: You’ll keep it safe, organised, and ready for anything — from an urgent robot repair to hosting a demo for investors. If you love variety, rolling up your sleeves, and want to help scale a truly unique space, this role puts you right in the centre of the action.
What you’ll be working on
Keep the workshop, storage, and deployment areas organised, clean, and safe
Fix and maintain anything that breaks — from installing TVs and shelves to basic repairs and improvements. You’re handy and don’t need a contractor for small jobs
Build, install, or assemble new furniture, equipment, or setups across the office and workshop
Oversee robot transport — help coordinate loading, unloading, and safe storage before and after deployments
Prepare toolboxes, site kits, and crates for deployment teams
Tackle physical tasks like breaking down training walls, moving materials, and handling brick or mortar waste
Coordinate repairs, facility upgrades, deliveries, restocking, and storage solutions
Support event setups (e.g. space layout, equipment, furniture)
Take ownership of small facility-related projects — like setting up new robot storage, organizing tools, or supporting renovations
What we’re looking for
2–4 years experience in facilities, operations, logistics, or similar roles (bonus: in a startup or scale-up)
Highly organised with strong project management skills — you plan ahead and follow through. People never feel they have to check in with you
Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented — you love keeping things in order
Comfortable with hands-on, physical work — you’re not afraid to lift, move, or get your hands dirty
Excellent communicator who enjoys working with a team. You understand that a big part of the job is telling people how a facility needs to be used, not just organizing it yourself
Empathetic to team needs and carrying out work in a safe manner
Comfortable with Notion, Slack, Google Suite, and quick to pick up new tools
Fluent in English and Dutch
Driver’s license a plus
Experience with EHS is a plus
