The Vehicle Fleet Manager is responsible for the management of our entire Fleet of Test Vehicles, and company own vehicle assets. The Fleet Manager is to ensure our test fleet, benchmark vehicles, and company owned vehicles are maintained and safe for use for their intended purpose.


Responsibilities

  • Manage, prioritize, and schedule vehicle fleet shared usage based on test plans and special requests such as management ride & drives as well as other VIP uses of fleet vehicles
  • Create systems and manage the check in/out utilization of all fleet vehicles and their key assignment Fleet Vehicles
  • Submit work order requests for workshop technician support required for continued safe vehicle operation and track tasks to completion
  • Manage inventories of spare parts for any necessary repairs or retrofits required to ensure vehicle uptime is maximized
  • Manage vehicle and test article configurations, component serial numbers, software versions for historical record keeping in our Test Lifecycle software database
  • Arrange for vehicle setup and safety inspections prior to vehicles shipping outbound for tests, as well as scheduling post-test inspections and vehicle teardowns at the conclusion of tests
  • Plan out and schedule shipping logistics for vehicles, components, tools, and equipment for off-site and remote test operations
  • Oversee test vehicles final builds, manage QC inspections, and be solely responsible for Sign-Off and Hand-Over to test vehicle owners
  • Plan and schedule post-build hardware & software updates to ensure each vehicle has the respective maturity required for its intended usage
  • Manage Fleet-wide Campaigns for Retrofits, recalls, or full stop requirements
  • Vehicle, buck, test article end-of-test disposition reuse, retention, disposal, or recycling
  • Comply with asset tracking (physical semi-annual audits and reporting), as well as DMV/Insurance documentation, record retention, legal inspections etc.
  • Provide daily written and verbal status as to completion/readiness of the entire test vehicle fleet and track vehicle up-time KPI’s

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicle architecture with an understanding of Powertrain, Battery, Chassis, Body, and 12Volt systems and an understanding of vehicle firmware
  • Ability to use MS Excel, MS Project, and other gantt Chart tools as well as basic office software
  • Ability to work as a member of a small nimble team and work in a self-directed manner
  • Must be able to manage changing priorities and balance workload
  • Maintain a professional appearance of both self and the fleet vehicles you are responsible for
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred and/or Automotive Technical degree such as an associate degree in automotive technology or having multiple ASE certifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive fleet management, EV/HV experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time
