We are currently seeking a Validation Engineer for our Vehicle Test team. This position requires an automotive professional with relevant experience testing early-stage vehicle prototypes as well as production ready vehicles. Our ideal candidate exhibits a strong drive, works well in a team, and has had prior experience bringing electric vehicles to production. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
•Gather test requirements, create test plans, plan, coordinate resources/logistics and execute vehicle-level testing based on requests received with high efficiency.
•Responsible for the maintenance and configuration management (HW and SW) of all assigned vehicles.
•Work with various cross-functional teams for executing test requirements and keeping all relevant stakeholders informed of progress.
•Triage all issues, rank them with severity/priority ratings and ensure that all the relevant details, data and test logs are included in the reported issues.
•Ability to analyze vehicle data to troubleshoot moderately complex issues, provide feedback to the relevant teams and support issue resolution efforts.
•Analyze all test results being documented, create technical reports for the program and clearly communicate technical information to senior members in the team .
•Mentor interns and associate engineers as required.
•Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support testing up to 50% of the time.
Required Experience:
•3-5 years of full-time experience in the Automotive/EV or relevant industry.
•Technical Competencies/Skills:
•Strong fundamentals in physics and engineering principles.
•Good understanding of various vehicle attributes, features, systems and components.
•Uses systems thinking and understands interactions between various systems.
•Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
•Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
•Strong problem-solving ability and familiarity with problem solving techniques like 8-D, RCA, FTA, 5 Whys etc.
•Experience with the testing process in the automotive industry.
•Experience with requirements, schedule/issue tracking tools like Doors, Jama, Jira and smartsheets.
•Experience with data analysis tools such as Grafana, Dewesoft/Ipetronik is preferred.
•Experience with CAN data and with MATLAB, Simulink, Vector and/or Peak CAN based tools.
•Basic scripting experience in Matlab and/or Python is preferred.
Education:
•Education: Bachelors in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $104,000-143,000 / year

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
