The Manager of Trade Compliance will help lead Lucid Motors global trade activities by utilizing technical expertise of trade laws and practices to ensure proper execution of global trade transactions, compliance with relevant customs laws, adherence to internal policies and federal regulations. You’ll lead a team of trade professionals from our Newark, CA HQ location managing daily import/export activities including daily interaction with customs brokers, vendors, couriers, freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers. Maintain trade documentation, audits, and post entry programs in accordance with laws and policy; coordinate with FA&B Team to ensure proper payment of duties and taxes. The successful candidate will have spent time launching new plants and/or new products in an automotive manufacturing environment, prior experience with EV vehicles preferred.  The ideal candidate will exhibit a can-do attitude and approaches this opportunity with determination.

You Will:

  • Experience with import and export regulations, HTS classification and customs valuation
  • Experience with FTZ – Foreign Trade Zones a plus
  • Problem-solving in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in trade and logistics enterprise systems and implementation is a plus
  • Interface with stakeholders regarding challenges and disruptions due to trade issues, root cause and design mitigation strategies
  • Recruit and build a high-performing Trade Compliance Team
  • Scale team, processes and systems to meet growth projections
  • Participate in broker management processes, such as selection, qualification, SOW and performance evaluation
  • Define and drive development and implementation of needed processes and systems
  • Develop and automate departmental metrics / KPI’s
  • You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
  • U.S. Customs Broker License
  • 10 years of relevant experience within an in-house trade compliance department, accounting/indirect tax, international trade consulting, trade law, or related discipline.
