ICON is looking for a Test Operations Engineer to support the design, development, installation, and implementation of industrial instruments and equipment. You will operate test infrastructure, support the rollout and analytics of test operations, and report metrics on the Product Test team's KPIs. The Product Test team focuses primarily on the acceptance, qualification, and R&D test campaigns of the 3D printing systems. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to the Test Operations Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development and implementation of ICON’s testing infrastructure.
  • Support the execution, rollout, and delivery of ION, and procedural software that the test and operations teams use to execute tasks.
  • Develop workflows, test documentation, and own the delivery of the rollout roadmap. 
  • Analyze test operational data along with reliability engineering teams and create reports to drive action on the floor, including takt time analysis, parts and labor, and issue/non-conformance reporting. 
  • Support on-site printing operations and test engineering efforts. Be a hands-on hardware engineer that enjoys working with technicians and other engineering teams. 
  • Produce test reports, develop test documentation, and organize and deliver team metrics. 
  • Serve as the point of contact for several different aspects of a project or multiple projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, or related field, with 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience operating complex electro-mechanical, fluid, or structural systems.
  • Experience with the following mechanical systems: pumps, gears, air compressors, pressure vessels, pneumatics, and lifting equipment.
  • Experience developing processes and process workflows that allow for ease of data collection and data analysis.
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge.
  • Demonstrate a safety mindset and point of contact for safety initiatives. 
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, have strong attention to detail and project management skills. 
  • Excellent communication and written skills. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be prepared to work, in part, in extreme environments: temps > 100 degrees or below freezing, sun, rain, mud, lack of electricity, etc. We get dirty!

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • M.S. degree in Engineering, or related field, professional certification, or 10+ years experience.
  • Residential construction and industrial technology experience.
  • Knowledge of data pipelining, data warehousing, and data analytics (Python, SQL).
  • Experience generating functional diagrams and process diagrams of complex systems and workflows. 
  • Knowledge of PLC logic and programming with Structured Text (Twincat/Scope).
  • Experience/Technical schooling in industrial engineering, operational analytics, or data analytics. 
  • Knowledge of various part fabrication techniques (machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, etching, injection molding, 3D printing, hydroforming).
