ICON is looking for a Technology Operations Process Lead to support our engineering product teams in their day-to-day administrative tasks. You will be responsible for working with product teams to ensure change control processes are understood and followed, guide improvements to the change control process based on feedback from stakeholders across the company, and manage the configuration of the software tools the teams use for their engineering workflows.

You’re a believer in taking an interdisciplinary approach to solving problems and that there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing the execution of a well thought out plan that produces thorough documentation, a high quality product, and reduces needless communication and downtime throughout a workflow. At the same time, you’re someone who believes in being adaptable; acknowledging when a process isn’t achieving a desired result and being willing to work with a wide variety of people across departments to try something new.

You never believe you’re “done” learning; there are always new tools, new frameworks, or new information to gather and incorporate into how you work and how others work. You are constantly seeking out opportunities to learn new skills, try out new software, or work with engineers to develop a tool or software that’s never existed before to meet the unique needs of a team or organization.

This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX and will report to the VP of Vulcan Product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure product teams follow the ICON product development process.
  • Develop visualizations that help illustrate the status of each major initiative in the product development process.
  • Create automations and templates in Jira, Confluence, and other engineering software to standardize engineering workflows.
  • Work with stakeholders both inside and outside of the engineering products groups to determine communication needs and facilitate that communication; providing insight into available data, configuring tools for automation, generating documentation when needed.
  • Managing technical writers to create a standardized presentation of training materials and technical documentation including installation guides and work instructions.
  • Own relationships with vendors that support the engineering product teams with contract based services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM-related field.
  • Innovative and creative problem solver with meticulous attention to detail and a stickler for time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to filter and distill the relevant information to the right audience.
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity with the ability to quickly propose solutions given limited guidance.
  • Comfortable enforcing standardizations and processes with stakeholders.
  • Experience in engineering, test/validation, and manufacturing.
  • Adept at communicating in a collaborative team environment and seeking optimum solutions with other team members.
  • A service-oriented attitude when in a support role.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Robotics product experience.
  • Previous start-up experience, and/or a resourceful innovative nature with an ability to streamline or develop efficient processes.
  • Ability to prioritize and stay cool in a dynamic start-up environment.
  • Experience with administration of cloud based tools (G Suite, Office365, Jira, etc.)
  • A hunger for learning and personal growth.
