As a Technical Expert | Power Electronics & Battery Systems, you are the technical backbone of our Procurement team. You know the technology behind power electronics and battery systems and you use that knowledge to challenge specifications, evaluate technical alternatives, and provide our Category Managers with the depth they need to negotiate with confidence. You bring a clear perspective on feasibility and cost impact to technical changes early in the process, working closely with Product Management and SCM. Cost & Value Engineering is a methodology you will grow into with us, the technical expertise, you already bring.
Technical Analysis & Evaluation
Analyse and assess technical specifications, manufacturing processes, and materials in the field of power electronics and battery systems
Challenge supplier specifications and price increase claims on the basis of sound technical understanding
Evaluate and compare technical product alternatives to identify optimization potential
Develop cost estimates and derive savings opportunities in close collaboration with Procurement and Product Management
Technical Support in Negotiations
Prepare and support supplier negotiations with technical expertise
Build negotiation arguments grounded in technical analysis and market benchmarks
Support RFQ/RFP processes with technical know-how
Collaboration with Product Management & SCM
Provide early-stage assessment of technical changes and their implications in close alignment with Product Management
Actively bring a technical perspective into product decisions and specification adjustments
Serve as the interface between Procurement, SCM, and Product Management
Process & Development
Drive KPI-based steering and data-driven reporting across your areas of responsibility
Actively share knowledge and promote best practices within the team
Strong technical understanding of power electronics, battery systems, or related technologies — gained through studies, training, or professional experience
Ability to critically challenge technical specifications and identify optimization potential
A natural cost awareness and genuine interest in developing expertise in Cost & Value Engineering
Analytical, structured way of working with a strong affinity for numbers
First exposure to procurement or supplier management is a plus — but not a requirement
Strong communicator, confident and persuasive with both suppliers and internal stakeholders
Experience with ERP systems and modern procurement or costing tools
Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus
