System Engineer – Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Developer Engineer

We at Lilium are on the lookout for an exceptional Hardware-in-the-Loop Developer Engineer to join our vibrant team and help us with the development of the cutting-edge Test Rigs for component, systems an aircraft level testing!
Here at Lilium you will find a passionate group of innovators who are aiming to revolutionize the aerospace industry as we know it, introducing new concepts and technologies to support the development and certification of an astonishing electrical Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft: the Lilium Jet! Your Day to Day:
· Unleash your skills and creativity as you design, develop and maintain cutting-edge HIL system that will support the redefinition of the aerospace landscape, support the verification activities a component / system and aircraft level!
· Collaborate with a brilliant team of multidisciplinary experts to translate complex system requirements and use cases into advanced Test Rigs Specifications that will guide the design and development of the HIL!
· Bring simulations to life by implementing, validating and verifying HIL simulation environments for various aerospace systems, from flight controls, to avionics or propulsion systems
· Showcase strong electrical and electronic skills to support the electrical design of boards (i.e. signal conditioning) and to enable the integration of electrical systems within HIL setups.
· Unite the realms of simulation and reality as you integrate real-time simulation hardware with real aircraft components such as electronic control units, sensors and actuators, to achieve unparallel level of aircraft representativeness in a laboratory environment!
· Embrace the role of a problem-solving guru, fearlessly troubleshooting and debugging Test Rigs (HIL) identifying potential issues and supporting us in unleashing the full potential of our project!
· Collaborate synergically with a larger team of brilliant software engineers, visionary chief engineers, talented modelling & simulation engineers to continually enhance our Test Rigs and final product to achieve unprecedented excellence.
· The cherry on top: if you really are the perfect candidate and have also experience in software development for FPGA (VHDL), utilize your expertise to enhance our electrical engine simulation models!
Your Profile:
· You have at least 5 years of experience with HIL development.
· You can harness the power of HIL simulation tools (hardware and software)! Experience with Simulink is mandatory, experience with Simulink Real Time and Speedgoat hardware is a strong plus.
· You have strong electrical and electronic skills
· You have experience with digital communication protocols (e.g. CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet, SPI, UART, ARINC-429, ARINC-825, Time Triggered Ethernet..).
· You have experience with aerospace systems (flight control system, avionics system, propulsion system, energy systems..) as a plus, but not mandatory
· You have experience with the complex world of aerospace standards and regulation as a plus, but not mandatory
· You can show strategic-thinking, target-oriented and have analytic problem-solving skills.
· You are a Team player!
· Fluent English language skills are essential, Fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
