Octopus Energy Services is spearheading the transition to greener, cheaper energy through the installation of in-home technologies; from smart meters and EV chargers; to low carbon heating, home batteries, solar, and beyond. We deliver smart energy, low carbon solutions for our customers.

We’ve fallen head-over-heels with smart meters, heat pumps, solar PV and all renewable tech - which instantly reduce customers' carbon footprint and give them control over their energy use. We are looking for Surveyor Team Managers who share our vision to move away from fossil fuels, towards sustainable, smart technologies for our customers.

This is a remote role with frequent travel to our Slough location (as well as other locations in accordance with business needs).

What you'll do

  • You'll lead and inspire multiple awesome Surveyors and Team Managers, to deliver truly epic customer experiences 
  • Manage a frontline leadership team, developing their capability to drive elite performance and deliver progressive results from their own teams
  • Play a visible and leading role as a key go to member of the Octopus Energy Services leadership community
  • Work closely with the Survey Quality Assurance, Technical and Training teams to develop and maintain a clear vision of the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques our surveyors need to facilitate the journey to low carbon technology, for our customers
  • Oversee the delivery and management of the resources required to deliver against customer and business requirements
  • Own Maintain and improve business processes within the surveyor function, which contribute to successful outcomes for our customers
  • Work closely with leaders across Octopus Energy Services as part of a collaborative and dynamic team continually looking to support our customers, and grow and improve our business
  • Support and develop a team of first line leaders… Using a positive coaching leadership style to encourage their independence, problem-solving and solution focused approach
  • You’ll support the Operations Director for Low Carbon Heating Surveying, in delivering business strategy, building the team, delivering projects and driving superb team performance and customer service
  • What you'll need

  • A proven record of creating a culture of high performance, trust, wellness, and strong authentic relationships across all teams. Our people love coming to work and your teams should too
  • Experience leading and inspiring people in operational field roles to deliver epic customer service with relevant industry experience, in utilities and/or the energy/low carbon/heating/renewables space
  • A compelling leadership style and presence that serves to highlight you as a role model across the Octopus Energy Services team
  • The ability to work at pace handle, multiple projects and challenges and organise others to maintain momentum and progress
  • You’ll be a confident and experienced leader who can hit the ground running and start to deliver quickly and in a lean environment, happy to deliver tasks at every end of the spectrum - big and small
  • Demonstrably high standards with the natural inclination to hold yourself and your team to account for achieving to your potential
  • Able to develop a base technical product knowledge to support how we will help our customers navigate to achieve low carbon energy use in their homes, through our products
  • The growth mindset which serves to encourage the continual learning and development of the team with a willingness to take accountability, seize opportunities and try new ways of working
  • A positive and resilient outlook that allows you to maintain effectiveness in a high paced and rapidly changing environment
