We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our growing team at Octopus Energy’s heat pump factory in Portadown, Northern Ireland.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our heat pump manufacturing facility. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for creating strong supply chain partnerships, strategic supply chain optimisation, and driving long-term cost efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have solid, demonstrable experience within a manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement supply chain strategies, optimising procurement, inventory management, and logistics operations to reduce cost

Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials

Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels, implementing efficient inventory management practices to minimise waste while ensuring adequate supply to support production needs

Risk Management: Develop contingency plans and mitigate supply chain risks, such as disruptions, shortages, or quality issues, ensuring continuity of operations

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance, regularly analysing metrics and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, finance, and quality assurance, to streamline processes and drive collaboration across departments.

What you'll need

To be well experienced in progressive supply chain management within a manufacturing environment

Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems

Ability to be on-site every day at our Portadown heat pump factory

A degree/equivalent in business, administration, engineering, logistics or related field

Proven track record of implementing supply chain strategies to optimise operations and reduce costs

Strong negotiation and communication skills, including being comfortable working with highly technical information

Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
