About the company:

Modo Energy is an energy market intelligence platform that provides data, analytics, and forecasts to investors, developers, lenders, and asset managers operating in the energy transition. The company offers a suite of products including bankable revenue forecasts, FCA-regulated and IOSCO-certified benchmarks for battery energy storage and other energy assets, and AI-powered analyst tools designed to support investment-grade decision-making across global power markets. Their platform integrates real-time market data, long-term forecasts, and expert analysis to help clients underwrite, monitor, and optimize energy assets such as grid-scale battery storage and solar projects. Modo Energy's mission is closely tied to accelerating the clean energy transition by equipping the financial and development community with the rigorous, transparent intelligence needed to deploy capital into green energy infrastructure with confidence. By providing regulated benchmarks and defensible forecast methodologies, the company helps reduce the information asymmetry that has historically slowed investment in renewable and storage assets. Their work directly supports the financing of projects critical to decarbonizing electricity grids. What sets Modo Energy apart is its position as the provider of the only FCA-regulated, IOSCO-certified benchmarks for battery energy storage, giving its data a level of institutional credibility rarely found in the energy analytics space. The company also offers Ko, an AI analyst built specifically for energy investment decisions, as well as an API for data integration, a podcast, and live events, making it a comprehensive intelligence ecosystem for the global energy finance community.

About Modo Energy

The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it.

We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room.

Founded in 2019, we're 80+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.

This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.

The Role

We're hiring a Supply Chain Analyst to build a new research area for Modo Energy. You'll research and report on the supply chains behind battery, solar, and wind systems, with a preference for candidates with battery experience.

Your focus in the first instance will be batteries, with scope to expand into wind and solar as the function grows. You'll track key trends, including oversupply from China and CAPEX projections for these systems over the coming years, and build a clear picture of the companies and routes that make up the global supply chain, particularly those with a presence in China.

The end goal of this role is to help asset owners and financiers understand what potential future costs for these projects might look like and to flag any major issues or delays that emerge across the supply chain.

This is a global role, based in London and reporting to the Director of European Product.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Research and report on supply chains for battery, solar, and wind systems, building Modo Energy's first body of work in this area.
  • Track and analyse key trends such as oversupply from China and capex projections for battery, solar, and wind systems in the coming years.
  • Build relationships with and knowledge of supply chain companies operating globally.
  • Translate supply chain research into practical cost and delay implications for asset owners and financiers.
  • Help define and build out this new research area for Modo Energy, working closely with the Director of European Product.
  • Stay on top of emerging battery technologies, such as sodium-ion, and assess what they mean for the supply chain.

What We're Looking For

The Essentials

  • 1+ years of experience in supply chain analytics.
  • An engineering-style background.
  • A preference for candidates with battery experience, though solar and wind experience will also be considered.
  • Comfortable building tools and workflows with AI.

Nice To Have

  • Familiarity with supply chain companies.
  • Interest in or exposure to battery energy storage or wider energy transition themes.

What You Can Expect From Us

At Modo Energy, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional reward. We're a high-performance team; ambitious, collaborative, and genuinely motivated by the scale of what we're trying to build.

You'll have real ownership from day one, work alongside some of the brightest people in the industry, and be part of a company that's defining a new category in the global energy market. We're hybrid: everyone works Tuesday to Thursday in office, with Monday and Friday flexible. We offer top-of-market compensation, equity for every employee, and the space to take your career wherever you want it to go.

We're looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers. If that's you, we want to talk.
