The Supervisor of, Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for leading the SOC out of Lucid’s headquarters. This role is designed to ensure Lucid’s Global Security & Business Resiliency team remains at the cutting edge in pioneering risk intelligence, prevention, and response solutions on behalf of our employees and our company.

This position is based in Newark, CA and on-site.

You Will:

  • Manage and direct a 24/7 team responsible for strategic threat detection & reporting, travel risk management, access control, and incident response.
  • Ensure the SOC acts as the eyes and ears of the Global Security team on a persistent basis, while always maintaining a state of readiness to act as a fusion center during crises.
  • Develop a repeatable and actionable threat intelligence program designed to identify key risks to the organization, communicate potential impact to personnel and business operations, and communicate mitigation and response measures being considered and/or operationalized.
  • Develop an effective daily horizon scanning program designed to detect and report on incidents that may impact Lucid operations, employees, and/or facilities around the world.
  • Develop and maintain accurate data repositories to ensure we can properly assess exposure and respond/report accordingly.
  • Support the development and maintenance of an effective Travel Security program designed to help Lucid employees conduct business anywhere in the world, free from distraction. This includes maintaining global risk rating systems, understanding and integrating with various travel management systems, developing and executing of emergency communications and response plans during crises, and developing of concise and impactful reporting to fill teams on a regular and proactive basis.
  • Direct and continue to refine coordinated response services that empower local security staff to more effectively act as our operational lead during incidents large and small.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, determine gaps in performance metrics, and recommend/execute change management techniques for efficiency/quality improvement.
  • Evaluate existing capabilities and systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage, administer, and work within software programs used to support operational processes such as executive security, emergency notification, global incidents, etc.
  • Manage a network of emergency response vendors to ensure we have access to the right response capabilities, information-sharing networks, advice, and equipment anywhere in the world.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative and complementary goals, capabilities, and protocols with our partners, such as Legal, Facilities, HR, and others.
  • You Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience managing a team of SOC operators and analysts and preferably with the military, law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Must have leadership experience and a consistent positive attitude.
  • Must demonstrate constructive leadership traits and consistency in judgment and professional bearing.
  • Must be flexible to work outside of core office hours, such as during operational support activities, conference calls with people in countries on other time zones or support major security events as they develop.
  • Ability to build a strong network of intelligence resources and extensive knowledge and understanding of the current global geo-political activity, threat conditions, and government structures.
  • Foster an atmosphere of trust and success in an environment where competing priorities and different strategic mindsets exist.
  • Excellent program management and project management experience.
  • Able to work with limited supervision and resources.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills.
  • Analytical with good business acumen.
  • Must be able to work with and understand cultural complexities.
  • Ability to work both operationally and strategically.
  • May be required to undertake travel.
  • Work across multiple time zones.
  • Highly collaborative.
