We are currently seeking a Logistics Training and Development supervisors.  This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to execute the day-to-day chaos that comes from the logistical requirements of a large scale organization, while also training  employees to improve their skills and expand their knowledge for success in maintaining Logistics operations at our Logistics Operation Center in Tempe, AZ. The successful candidate will have spent considerable time launching new products and processes in an automotive manufacturing environment. This position requires partnership with Supply Chain, Logistics, QA/QC, Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to implement new processes and manage changes. You Will:

  • Execute project plans (involve the parties, follow the project plan.
  • Plan, develop, implement, sustain and audit all the training program needed in the Logistics Operation center to train and standardize the logistics procedures with safety and accuracy.
  • Update plan and KPI to monitor progress in training and process accuracy according work instructions
  • Development of work instructions, training process, standardization and audits programs.
  • Follow up logistics strategies to better improve logistics processed inside the Logistics operation center
  • Follow up standard operating procedures for each one of the initiatives when executing the projects.
  • Provide  and execute out of the box ideas by applying new technologies and best-practice / processes in the industry
  • Create and implement cohesive project plans with an identifiable critical path, task dependencies, risk and issue mitigation processes and major milestones
  • Understand the interactions between warehouse management systems (WMS, SAP, MES, safety, etc.) and other types of traditional and innovative technology (automation)
  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership through effective communication and collaboration to support company goals
  • Ensure alignment is achieved and that the resources are available to effectively deliver on plans.
  • Demonstrates safety consciousness at all times and reports safety questions/concerns.
  • Leads the development of the defined project and consults on the timeline and resource requirements.
  • Accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and adherence to established project management protocols.
  • Set priorities within the project considering dependencies of the actions items that will drive closure.
  • Ensure project meets internal expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery timelines and strategy.
  • Conducts post-project “raise the bar” sessions to capture successes and opportunities for improvement throughout the organization
  • Create and provide new training material development initiatives in order to ensure employees receive the most up to date and relevant training available
  • Evaluate employees, identify strengths and weaknesses, and determine individual training needs
  • Track employee progress to meet individual goals and department objectives

  • You Bring:

  • 5+ years total in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Engineering, Industrial Engineering with thorough knowledge of Supply Chain systems and processes
  • 5+ years of experience in any of the following areas: material flow, warehouse design, transportation management, dedicated fleet operations, distribution center management, materials handling, decision support systems and technology
  • 5+ years full scope project management and training program experience
  • 2+ years of related automotive industry experience and LEAN manufacturing
  • 2+ years direct leadership experience
  • Strong proficiency with project management practices, tools and methodology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations at all levels.
  • Experience designing and implementing curricula preferred
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project timelines.
  • Experience in automation and warehouse/logistics optimization project management
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Experience with WMS and TMS software applications

  • Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, (Master’s Degree highly desired), in Supply Chain, Logistics Engineering, or related field (Industrial Engineering, Operations Research)
  • PMP Certification, Six Sigma Certifications a plus
