Responsibilities:

  • Leadership:
  • Lead large work packages outsourced to external providers
  • “Own” the quality of the suppliers output and drive improvement
  • Manage and report the “status” of simulations
  • Plan work using Gannt charts
  • Manage work using JIRA
  • Capture key actions from meetings
  • Deescalate conflict at all levels
  • Technical:
  • Identify technical gaps/opportunities in the Implicit team
  • Plan, develop, validate and implement solutions to these technical dvpgaps
  • Create and maintain best practice simulation guidelines for internal and external engineers
  • Provide structural simulation guidance to design engineers for simple studies
  • Develop simple tools for design engineers
  • Collaboration:
  • Work with colleagues in the RED-CAT team to share knowledge and experience
  • Work with the DIGITAL team to assist with the automation of processes and workflows
  • Analysis:
  • Build and assemble finite element models
  • Perform structural simulations:Stiffness  and strengthNVH (Modal, FRF, NTF)Fatigue (static and frequency based)
  • Optimisation
  • Knowledge and experience of assessing composites preferred
  • Sanity check work using hand calculations and first principles
  • Write and present clear and concise simulation reports to a variety of audiences
  • Provide clear next steps and solutions for any piece of work 
  • Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in structural simulation
  • 1st Class degree in engineering (other sciences acceptable)
  • A solid grounding in the fundamentals of structural simulation
  • Confident Hyperworks user (other packages acceptable)
  • Experience in automation, scripting and programming (Python preferred)
  • Track record demonstrating creativity and ingenuity
