About the company:

BETA Technologies is creating an electric transportation ecosystem that’s safe, reliable and sustainable. A relentlessly focused team is building an extensive charging infrastructure and ALIA, the world’s most technologically advanced electric vertical aircraft (EVA).

BETA’s platform and products are strikingly simple. Prioritization of safety and a pragmatic approach to certification drive elegant redundancy, appropriate diversity of implementation and simplicity of control. ALIA’s fixed-pitch propellers and centrally located batteries make it an inherently stable aircraft that is safe to fly and easy to maneuver.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Landing Gear Stress Analyst to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive stress and fatigue analysis of aircraft landing gear systems to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Conduct detailed finite element analysis (FEA) and stress analysis of landing gear components
  • Develop and perform complex computational models to evaluate structural integrity
  • Analyze load conditions, fatigue life, and stress distribution of landing gear systems
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation of analysis results
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide recommendations for structural improvements
  • Validate analytical models through comparison with test data and experimental results
  • Support FAA certification and qualification processes for landing gear systems for Part 23/27 aircraft
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience performing aerospace stress and fatigue analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of FEA tools (ANSYS preferred)
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structural mechanics and load analysis
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • BS in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field (master’s preferred)
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with aerospace certification standards (FAA, EASA)
  • Experience in the design, development, test, and certification of landing gear for Part 23 and/or 27 aircraft
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • This role is based in South Burlington, VT or Montreal, QC, and is an in-office job (not remote)
  • Expectations are 80-90% of the time would be office work and up to 20% hands on supporting test activities
  • Occasional travel to suppliers and test facilities
