Who You Are
Reporting to the Director of Strategy, as Strategy Manager you will tackle Strategic Initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading and supporting cross-functional efforts that are critical to achieving our strategy for global energy transformation. You will tackle a wide variety of challenges and topic areas, collaborate with teammates across the entire company, and bring clarity to complex, ambiguous situations of high strategic importance. You will have the opportunity to refine Sila's Pricing practice and contribute to competitive intelligence. Strategic minds with strong business sense and technical proficiency who enjoy continuous learning, analyzing problems from multiple angles, and doing something different every day will excel in this role.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Identify and drive cross-functional initiatives that are critical to achieving our long-term strategy, including testing assumptions, closing information gaps, finding acceleration options, and evaluating and mitigating risks.
- Crystallize key insights from research, data, and complex analyses into useful communications that help senior leadership make informed decisions, as well as explain the reasoning behind decisions to broader company audiences
- Understand and quantify market supply and demand trends, and the value Sila creates for customers, ultimately informing pricing
- Partner with the Commercialization team to refine our go-to-market strategy through market models and contribute to an ever more efficient sales process
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders and lead efforts relating to government funding opportunities
- Contribute to our Competitive Intelligence practice with insights and process improvement
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Bachelors of Science with a technical background.
- Strategic and analytical thinker, with ability to frame, research, quantify, and model operational, financial, and other trade-offs to facilitate cross-functional decisions. Able to balance big picture thinking with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong business acumen. Comfortable diving into multiple business functions and taking initiative in situations where thought leadership is either absent or unclear.
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. Highly effective at leading through influence, working with diverse functional partners and stakeholders, and developing and delivering executive level presentations.
- Demonstrated success executing on several high priority projects at once with flexibility to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
- 4+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, or other cross-functional quantitative roles preferred. Battery and/or auto industry experience is a big plus.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Work onsite at Sila's Alameda Headquarters. Some business travel required
- Operate a computer and other office equipment such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc. in a fixed location
The starting base pay for this role is between $146,000 and $185,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
