Staff Thermal System Simulation Engineer

Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.&nbsp;</p></div><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead thermal model creation and correlation efforts for Rivian vehicles in Amesim, GT-Suite or Simscape</li> <li>Perform drive cycle analysis to determine component level requirements</li> <li>Determine minimum component requirement and performance to achieve drive cycles</li> <li>Integrate thermal models across organization for vehicle level range and efficiency simulations</li> <li>Architect supplier base component library and archive for future quick turn requirement simulation</li> <li>Maintain and optimize system modeling simulations to achieve lower run time</li> <li>Help with benchmark and target setting activities for current and future products</li> <li>Lead system and CFD simulation activities for the group and cross organization</li> <li>Lead individual efforts and perform as a part of cross-functional team</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace)&nbsp;Bachelor’s&nbsp;or&nbsp;Graduate Degree from an accredited University with a strong background in system modeling and architecture</li> <li>Experience in using any system level simulation tool. Amesim preferred but not required</li> <li>5+&nbsp;years’ experience&nbsp;in vehicle level simulations with emphasis on thermal system</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of vehicle refrigeration system and control parameters</li> <li>CAD experience (CATIA, Solidworks) preferred but not required</li> <li>Proven track record of problem solving and independent root cause analysis</li> <li>Thermal chamber/Climatic wind tunnel testing experience a great plus</li> <li>Electric vehicle and Formula SAE experience desirable</li> <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skill</li> <li>Multiple level of engineering positions available depending on experience</li> <li>Travel: 10%</li> <li>No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years</li> <li>No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years</li> <li>Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle</li> <li>Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring</li> </ul> <p>#LI-JC1</p><div class="content-conclusion"><h4>Equal Opportunity</h4> <p>Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
