Role Description
We are looking for a highly driven Technical Program Manager who will take our battery manufacturing programs from product design to operations. Our batteries are at the cutting edge of science and innovation, therefore, this role requires a highly technical program leader with an organized mindset, a passion for launching new technologies, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. You are an extension of the senior leadership team and will drive collaboration between Design Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, Factory Engineering and Production to ensure our manufacturing plans are aligned and critical paths are tackled as effectively as possible.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the cross-functional team to ensure successful launches of our first-in-kind battery manufacturing program
  • Own the program schedule, roadmap, risks, budget, escalations. You will bring clarity and drive action on program critical paths and will prepare roll-up information for senior leadership.
  • Accountable for creating, maintaining and communicating schedules and plans for battery manufacturing projects, including process development, process validation, line design, equipment fabrication, FAT, shipping, SAT, SOP, etc
  • Provide technical leadership and project management skills to identify creative and timely solutions to key program challenges 
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop novel and complex automation equipment
  • Coordinate build milestones with the Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities team and Production team
  • Track equipment readiness and report effectively on status, blockers & changes
  • Track project costs and drive cost management improvement
  • Identify team priorities and motivate the project team to complete critical tasks
  • Drive action with internal and cross-functional teams to complete projects within time and resource constraints
  • What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering large manufacturing projects that involve designing, installing and launching high-volume manufacturing lines 
  • Experience in production, manufacturing and new product introduction environment
  • Ability to distill concise and actionable path forward out of complex and ambiguous reality
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, leadership, interpersonal and decision-making abilities
  • Experience managing conflicting objectives and compressed timelines in high-volume manufacturing
  • Exceptional drive, sense of ownership and resourcefulness
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and in ambiguous environments with shifting priorities 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, physics or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred but not required
  • Experience in product design and manufacturing as well battery manufacturing and automation is preferred but not required
