Lucid is seeking a Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer to lead architecture review, design, and industrialization of power-electronic focused PCBs, PCBAs, EE components, and entire manufacturing and qualifying processes for electric vehicle platforms. In this role, you will work closely with hardware and software engineering, supply chain manager, manufacturing, and suppliers/manufacturing partners to stabilize its quality and manufacturability that meet Lucid’s aggressive timelines and demands.
The ideal candidate brings technical expertise in PCBAs/PCBs/Components, experience developing suppliers, and a solid understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes to support new product launches and high‑volume production.
Responsibilities:
- Own supplier industrialization roadmaps and drive continuous improvement plans for PCBs, PCBAs, and Components driving IPC, IATF 16949, and automotive electronics qualification standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure DFM/DFT/DFA are reviewed and embedded early in design.
- Oversee audits and qualifications of PCBA manufacturing and test processes including stencil printing, solder paste inspection, pick & place, reflow, wave/selective soldering, AOI, X-ray, FCT, ICT, and test in chambers.
- Ensure suppliers maintain robust PFMEA, Control Plans, and Poka-Yoke systems.
- Evaluate supplier process flows, ESD controls, rework practices, and material handling.
- Assess suppliers’ manufacturability, factory layout, facility, workflow, process map, tool/equipment, & workforce (MODAPTS) to ensure its capability to meet production demands.
- Develop, manage and improve the APQP (advanced product quality planning) process with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and the start of mass production for new electronic components and assemblies.
- Coordinate all supplier industrialization activities between the DRE and GSM including delivering design documents, creating build schedules, and monitoring progress.
- Lead design reviews to ensure that manufacturing requirements are incorporated during the design phase and that comprehensive quality standards are clearly defined.
- Own and drive internal ECRs, QUALs, and Change Management.
- Develop quality plans, design test methods and gages, identify potential failure modes and process weaknesses and drive preventative actions.
- Perform supplier audits and site inspections.
- Work cross functionally with plant level manufacturing, incoming quality, material planning and SQEs to ensure supplier quality issues are contained and Lucid plants are protected.
- Investigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause, identify and implement corrective actions, and drive long-term preventative actions.
- Perform supplier audits and site inspections; develop process improvement plans and drive implementation; monitor and maintain performance metrics.
- Manage support system assembly builds, establish incoming parts inspection procedures as required, monitor and resolve build issues, and collaborate with suppliers to implement containment measures and drive long-term corrective actions.
- Expected travel 25-75% on average on a short-term or long-term basis to Lucid Motors facilities and supplier sites globally on a short notice.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of high-volume manufacturing and assembly plant experience leading PCB/PCBA/EE Board components industrialization and working closely with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Expertise in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IATF 16949, and PPAP/APQP methodologies.
- Proven analytical skills and hands-on experience with SMT equipment, defect analysis, and process validation.
- Hands-on supplier industrialization, SQE, APQP and PPAP experience.
- Proven analytical abilities, technical writing, and comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (IATF 16949, SPC, AEC-Q, MSA, FMEA, DOE, GD&T, etc.).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification - American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, etc.
- Experienced with Smart sheet's, JMP, Minitab, JIRA and Tableau is a plus.
