Role Description
As a Staff Quality Engineer based in Somerville, MA, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing novel quality processes at Form Energy. You will work with cell development, product, and manufacturing engineers to integrate new prototypes and processes into quality systems. You will initially focus on solutions to the pilot production environment and then support the deployment of those systems to the at-scale production environment. This role is an excellent opportunity to help define quality systems for our growing manufacturing efforts and assist with the development of new products!

What You'll Do:

  • Develop, document, and implement quality control protocols and processes for raw materials, work in progress materials, and finished product across L0 processes in Somerville, MA
  • Be the first responder to quality issues on the pilot line(s), owning, managing, and developing the NCR system
  • Provide design for quality feedback to the product engineering teams
  • Gather and communicate quality and process capability data to the broader team and collaborate with process and manufacturing engineers to improve those metrics
  • Own the creation of quality systems to improve data quality for our subscale R&D processes
  • Manage Quality Technician(s) to perform incoming and other quality inspections
  • What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing quality control or metrology 
  • Experience using industry standard metrology and test methods
  • Experience using statistical analysis to measure process performance
  • Experience setting up new quality processes in a pilot manufacturing environment and/or with a novel product in an established manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with product engineers providing Design for Quality feedback a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or other related field
