Role/Responsibilities:
Perform system CFD simulations on various HVAC and thermal system components and sub-systems.Develop automotive cabin thermal models for HVAC sizing. Perform system-level analysis to drive the selection and sizing of various key components in the coolant, refrigeration, and airflow systems.Develop and refine system-level models to evaluate various concepts during the concept evaluation stage.Optimize the system design and component selection to achieve desired performance using the most cost-effective solution.Build test bucks and perform tests to confirm component and system-level performance for flow and heat transfer.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS (and preferably MS) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering disciplines.Deep understanding of the fundamentals of fluid mechanics and heat transfer.Experience with modeling using commercial CFD software.Experience with modeling in GT Suite, and MATLAB.Experience performing or participating in System FMEA, and DFMEA for thermal systems.Ability to work cross-functionally between hardware, software, test, and manufacturing teams.Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.A systems and big picture view of hardware–software interactions.A flair for creative engineering and problem-solving.Experience in resolving issues through appropriate analysis and design modification.3 to 8 years of experience with systems analysis, product development, controls development, and testing in automotive, aviation, aerospace, or similar industries.Nice to Have:
Experience with CANape, CANalyzer.Experience in data acquisition using LabView in a laboratory environment.Experience in instrumentation and data collection from test vehicles.
