Lucid is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to support the design and construction of a variety of new and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities in our high-tech facilities across the globe.

The Role:

  • Coordinate structural design on multidisciplinary project teams including Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals. 
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, design in seismic regions, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations 
  • Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement 
  • Working knowledge of US building codes and structural design standards requirements 
  • Familiarity with Revit Structural and experienced with Navisworks, RISA 3D and/or ETABs 
  • Present 30% 60% 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams 
  • Complete field work independently or with the design team 
  • Manage structural projects from estimating through construction 
  • Provide planning estimates with limited scoping information requirements 
  • Able to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines  
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion 
  • Self-directed, highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight 
  • Strong desire to be a part of a world class team focused on achieving amazing results Preferred Qualifications/Experience 
  • Respond to code comments and resolve permit issues with code officials 
  • Assist in resolving construction conflicts and answer questions from contractors and bidders 
  • Provide in-field or on-site surveys and inspections and draft subsequent site report 
  • Ensure the installation of the process systems meets the plans and specifications of the original design and the expectations of the client 
  • Review Structural design packages from equipment builders and facilities construction 
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation and making recommendations that are supported by the analysis and are consistent with code and good engineering practice 
  • Develop structural design standards for commonly used equipment/tools. 
  • Prepare contract documents (drawings, specifications, calculations) 
  • Develop project management experience such as scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, etc. 
  • You Will:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and 8 years of experience in structural design of commercial, industrial, or manufacturing industries 
  • Excellent communication skills essential for team-based working 
  • Knowledge and experience with writing sequences of operation 
  • Experience in writing engineering reports and assessing systems and construction quality 
  • Construction Administration experience including site observation visits and review of RFIs, and shop drawings 
  • Capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and directing and overseeing junior staff work for same projects 
  • Direct experience in the preparation of structural contract drawings and engineering specifications 
  • Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as Structural Software, Revit Structural, Navisworks, RISA 3D and/or ETABs, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT Certification preferred
