As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on the Advanced Engineering team, you will architect vehicle concepts to help realize groundbreaking products for the future of electric vehicles. This role will be filled by someone who specializes in chassis hardware design and can offer experienced insight into suspension architectures and vehicle dynamics. The ideal candidate will be an engineer who is passionate about the product, strives for excellence, manages uncertainties, and works collaboratively.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $115,000-$165,000

Role: Develop suspension architectures from a blank page to concept design and engineering validation.Create and optimize mechanical designs for performance, size, weight, durability, and costQuickly CAD/sketch parts for systems across the vehicle which includes (but is not limited to): Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Tires, Body-In-White, Powertrain.Build simulation models for vehicle dynamics analysis.Work cross-functionally with hardware design teams and attribute owners across the company (Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing) to refine the most optimal designs.Navigate flexibly through assumptions, ambiguity, and preliminary requirements of the concept design phase.
Qualifications: Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.5+ years of mechanical engineering experienceAutomotive experience specialized in chassis, structures, suspension, or vehicle dynamics.Experience of manufacturing processes (extrusions, castings, stampings, injection moulding, etc )
