Role Summary

As a member of Rivian’s Operational Accounting team you will provide overall leadership for Finance and Accounting functions. Key responsibilities include driving the planning at the operational level, coordinating and reviewing the accounting team’s daily routine of processing and reporting financial data, and analyzing the plant financials and communicating those to the leadership team. Serve as an active member of the managerial team, fulfilling leadership duties and providing input for strategy, direction & continuous improvement, and aligning resources to meet future customer needs and drive superior operating results. As our system evolves grows and matures, the position responsibilities will evolve and change to meet our business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Financial performance and Integrity – Champions the accuracy and execution of the financials results to meet or exceed shareholders’ expectations by engaging all other functions in the facility while developing and deploying strong financial processes and professional bench.
  • Consistently applies generally accepted accounting principles and company policy to financial activity at the plant; including ensuring accurate and timely completion of Profit Plan (budgets); Financial Forecasts; Month-end close; Year-end close, SOX and etc.
  • Controls and safeguards the company assets.
  • Forecasts, analyzes and reports financial data.
  • Leads, trains, develops, and motivates the finance staff.
  • Support the coordination of planning and financial strategy.
  • Advises the Operations team on financial and other key matters.
  • Provides and interprets financial statements for plant operating decisions.
  • Establishes standards for key performance measurement – including key focus factory metrics.
  • Ensures internal and external audit compliance to policies, GAAP, and SOX Controls.
  • Develops programs designed to provide operating economies and contribute profits to the corporation.
  • People - Champions and actively participates in the facilitation of the following initiatives for the facility in general and for the Finance team specifically:  Leadership Attributes, Ethics, Diversity & Inclusion, Performance Management, and Reward and Recognition.
  • Ensures that all members of the Finance team are trained in the applicable environmental, health and safety practices. 
  • Quality – Champions and actively participates in the following quality initiatives.
  • Operations Financial Performance - Collaborates in the development and execution of plan objectives.  Champions and actively participates in the Continuous Improvement.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned– Champions the accuracy and execution of the financial results to meet or exceed shareholders’ expectations by engaging all other functions in the facility while developing and deploying strong financial processes and professional bench.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience in Accounting or Financial Analysis
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Specific technical knowledge in all areas of Accounting: financial, cost, industrial, etc.
  • CPA/CMA/MBA
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of corporate financial policies, procedures, and systems.
