As a Durability CAE Engineer, you will be leading the assessment of durability attributes for various vehicle subsystems like Suspension, Body, Powertrain, Battery Pack, interiors, exteriors, closures, seating etc. Along with CAE assessments, you will be involved in testing activities such as test plan development, test to CAE correlation etc. You will also have opportunity to drive the design changes through design optimization, defining the durability requirements, working with the design team to conduct trade-off studies. This position will work with all testing activities in the company including Regulatory, Certification, and Compliance testing as well as all system and sub-system/component testing.
Your exact job level (Engineer, Sr. Engineer, etc.) will be defined by the experience and technical ability you have and how well you demonstrate your skills during the interview. This role and team will be a mixture of different experience levels all working together to make groundbreaking products with amazing innovation.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $115,000 - $165,000

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. Qualifications5 + years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience in vehicle level CAE analysis, testing and development.Working knowledge of linear, non-linear analysis, fatigue analysis, design optimization etc.Good fundamental knowledge of structures and mechanics of materials Proficiency in using ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, MetaPost, nCode, OptiStructStrong knowledge of vehicle performance requirements, deriving load cases from requirements, setting performance targets, developing testing and validation plans.
