About the company:

Gradyent is a Dutch climate technology company that develops a real-time Digital Twin Platform designed to optimize and decarbonize heating, cooling, steam, and CO₂ grids. By creating a dynamic digital replica of physical thermal energy networks, the platform enables grid operators to monitor, simulate, and optimize their systems from energy production through the network to end users, all in real time. The company serves district heating operators, industrial facilities, and utilities seeking to modernize their infrastructure and reduce operational costs.

About Gradyent

Providing heating and cooling for homes, buildings, and industry accounts for nearly 50% of global final energy consumption. As these systems become increasingly interconnected with multiple energy carriers, their complexity will grow significantly.

Traditional software is no longer sufficient to manage this level of complexity. This increases the need for digital and data-driven solutions to improve efficiency, enable smarter decision-making, and ensure reliable energy delivery.

With our real-time Digital Twin Platform, we create a digital copy of the entire grid from production through distribution to end-users, combining geographical, weather, and sensor data with physics-based models and AI. It allows energy providers to optimise their systems in real time, improve operational control, and run simulations of future situations.

Our team consists of energy specialists, engineers, data scientists and top-tier consulting alumni and is backed by investors Blue Earth Capital, SEB Greentech Venture Capital, Capricorn Partners, Eneco Ventures, Helen Ventures, and Energiiq.

The role

You’ll support customer projects and work directly with clients to onboard and optimise their energy networks. This means collaborating closely with international energy and utility companies and supporting each project end to end.

This is a varied position, which will include data analysis, prototyping new product functionalities, preparing and leading workshops, conducting customer interviews, validating customer information, and collaborating with other departments at Gradyent. Collaborating in teams of 2–4 people, you’ll simultaneously work on multiple projects, aligning closely with the Operations leadership within the Customers Operations team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Enable clients to successfully adopt our software to reduce CO₂ emissions and operational costs.
  • Act as the project manager responsible for leading projects end-to-end, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Represent the voice of the customer when developing new product features.
  • Help improve Gradyent’s product proposition, service offerings, and scalable operational processes.
  • Deeply understand our clients’ energy networks, challenges, and optimisation opportunities by analysing historical sensor data and key network elements.
  • Collaborate with teammates to gather data, analyse results, and present insights during workshops.
  • Collect, clean, and prepare customer data (e.g. GIS data, sensor data), including Python-based analysis and visual GIS processing.
  • Use our analytics platform to uncover new insights and develop impactful solutions for customers.
  • Develop scalable and replicable methods to deliver insights efficiently.
  • Ensure project success through proactive planning, dependency management, and clear communication.
  • Engage customer stakeholders through project meetings, workshops, and results read-outs.
  • Train customers and create training materials to support long-term adoption.
  • Coordinate closely with other Gradyent teams to ensure comprehensive and successful delivery.

About you

  • Experience in energy, analytics, or a related field; ideally within a client-facing environment.
  • A proactive, pragmatic problem-solver with a strong passion for analytics.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing project scopes.
  • An effective collaborator with strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Open to feedback, able to ask for help when needed and proactively flag risks or delays.
  • BSc, MSc, or higher in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical, energy, aeronautical engineering, etc.).
  • Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a strong advantage.

Why Join?

  • Join an ambitious scale-up that has successfully raised a Series B funding round from an international consortium of investors in the sustainable energy sector.
  • Make a direct impact on sustainability and the energy transition.
  • Be part of an international, inspiring team of talented, creative and collaborative professionals.
  • Enjoy fantastic team events, including off-sites, monthly socials and team gatherings.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, high-performing environment that welcomes new ideas and offers plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Benefit from a competitive salary and a variable incentive plan (SARs).
  • Receive a competitive benefits package, including an BahnCard and pension scheme.
