Lucid Motors is leading the charge in redefining luxury electric vehicles. We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Android Automotive Framework, to join our Infotainment Software team. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Technical Leadership: Setting technical direction, overseeing architecture decisions, and guiding the development of Android Automotive OS (AAOS) components. 
  • Team Management: Hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineers; fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. 
  • Project Oversight: Managing timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware, UX, QA, and product teams. 
  • Platform Development: Enhancing Android Framework components, integrating HAL services, and ensuring performance, stability, and compliance with automotive standards. 
  • Strategic Contribution: Influencing product strategy and aligning engineering efforts with business goals. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead development of AAOS-based infotainment systems. 
  • Optimize system performance (latency, resource usage, stability). 
  • Resolve issues related to connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), multimedia, CarPlay, Android Auto. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, hardware, QA). 
  • Conduct code reviews and document design decisions. 
  • Stay current with Android and automotive technology trends. 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications 

  • Technical Skills 
  • Strong experience with Android Framework, AOSP, and AAOS. 
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, C/C++, and Linux. 
  • Experience with HAL development, NDK, and embedded systems. 
  • Familiarity with automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). 
  • Debugging tools: adb, logcat, Wireshark, gdb. 

 

Leadership & Management 

  • 3+ years in a technical leadership role. 
  • 2+ years in people management. 
  • Ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering teams. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 
  • 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in automotive or embedded systems. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with on-device ML, infotainment product development, or Android certification. 
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile development. 
  • Background in cross-functional project leadership.
