In this role, you will:
Set vehicle heat-protection targets, communicate the vision, develop development plans, and lead cross-functional teams.Cascade requirements to subsystems, establish best practices, and integrate thermal considerations early.Lead heat-protection workstreams, support testing and validation, analyze risk data, and ensure milestone progress.Track fleet thermal performance, investigate incidents, report metrics, and drive continuous enhancements.Present updates on heat protection status, track issues, and report status to the wider vehicle attribute teamTrack open issues and ensure progress to closure using Zoox systems (Jira, Confluence)Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field8+ years of experience in thermal engineering or heat transfer applications, and a strong understanding of passive thermal management techniquesExperience with thermal design and development, and vehicle-level testing and validationExperience in component integration and attributes management, preferably within the automotive sectorProficiency in thermal analysis tools and data analysis (Ansys Icepak)Bonus Qualifications
MS or PhD in relevant engineering disciplinePrevious experience working in advanced or early concept phasesFamiliarity with fleet data analysis and monitoring systemsBackground in design for manufacturing and reliability
