Senior Director, Product Integrity & Reliability

What You Will Be Doing

As a Software Engineer in our Product Integrity & Reliability group, you will work toward transforming manual hardware reliability testing and analysis into automated processes. You will partner closely with reliability, hardware and software teams to collaborate on our system and component test optimization.

You will serve as a lead in developing solutions that evolve the team’s capacity for more advanced test protocols by enabling test and analysis efficiency. You will have the opportunity to develop and support health monitoring for improved reliability assessment that allows predictive maintenance. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about automation and optimization with an interest to solve problems through creative software solutions.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• Identify opportunities for automation within test processes, collaborating with cross functional teams to target efficient test workflows.
• Design and implement automated diagnostic test scripts that verify hardware functionality and capture parametric data.
• Grow and maintain web-based test tracking platform with applications and databases that enable timeline management, project prioritization, and data storage for queries and trend analysis.
• Identify bugs and quality issues in existing test processes.
• Document requirements, software design and test procedures / results.
• Collaborate with test engineers to set up test equipment monitoring and performance data collection, automating sensor based safety triggers and alert reporting.
• Develop system health monitoring dashboards that visualize key field hardware reliability metrics, diagnostics and fault tracking.
• Automate transformations for field data pipeline to enable measurement of reliability and enable prognostics.
• Develop system and component functional scripts that drive hardware stress for accelerated life testing.
• Triage system failures found in testing to decipher software / firmware causes from hardware issues. Interface with embedded and QA software teams as needed.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar. MS preferred.
• 1-4 years of software development experience.
• Experience in using open source software for full-stack web development with a strong understanding for developing both frontend and backend.
• Proficiency in:
• Python, JavaScript, SQL languages and bash (Linux) scripting
• developing / using APIs to communicate with test equipment
• Experience in:
• Pandas, re (regex), matplotlib libraries
• Git, Jira, Confluence platforms
• using Raspberry Pi and Arduino to control devices
• Basic understanding of kernel operation and build tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self driven to learn new skills and problem solving methods as needed.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects for timely completion.
• Passion for building automation environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Success collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred

• Basic knowledge of LabView.
• Experience in:
• automating serial and SSH interfaces, working with PySerial and PyVisa libraries
• React, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, FastAPI, Docker technologies
• networking test equipment

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $60,000 to $145,500. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
