About This Role: The Shop Foreman will supervise all production activities within our fast-paced design/build manufacturing company, where every project is uniquely crafted to client specifications. This pivotal role demands expertise in orchestrating manufacturing processes across metal processing, fabrication, paint, and electrical work. By collaborating closely with department leads and applying Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, the Shop Foreman will optimize workflows to ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency in our bespoke manufacturing environment. This is a full-time position.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Production Oversight: Oversee all facets of production, including metal processing, fabrication, paint, and electrical work.

  • Custom Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans meticulously tailored to the unique specifications of each project, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Department Collaboration: Collaborate closely with department leads to optimize workflows and ensure seamless integration with project teams.

  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive ongoing improvement and operational excellence within our custom manufacturing setting.

  • SOP Development: Partner with upper management to establish and refine standard operating procedures and processes.

  • Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement strategic initiatives to streamline operations and improve project outcomes.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate seamlessly with Project Managers, Scheduling, Procurement, and Engineering teams to guarantee cohesive project alignment and timely delivery.

  • Resource Management: Effectively manage resources to meet production targets and adhere to project deadlines.

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to department managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work culture.

  • Performance and Development: Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and facilitate individual growth.

  • Space Optimization: Efficiently manage space utilization within the manufacturing facility to optimize production capabilities for custom projects.

  • Direct Reports: Manage leaders overseeing various departments within the production environment.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in technical or administrative field preferred but not required, or possess equivalent practical experience.

  • Production Management Expertise: Proven experience in production management within a design/build manufacturing environment, coupled with expertise in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the demonstrated ability to excel in a dynamic and custom-focused manufacturing setting.

  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 9001, NEMA, and NEC compliance standards, ensuring adherence to stringent quality and safety protocols.

  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Acumatica), Smartsheets, and Google's software suite.

  • Custom Manufacturing Acumen: Profound understanding of custom sheet metal, electrical, and welding manufacturing environments, with a demonstrated ability to adapt processes to meet unique project requirements.

  • Safety and Compliance: All job offers are contingent upon receiving a negative drug/alcohol test. This position is subject to random drug testing. Must be able to pass a background check.

Compensation: Compensation will be paid in the range of $50 - $60. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. 1
