Zoox is looking for a Senior Vehicle Network Integration Engineer to drive the design, integration, and verification of our vehicle networks. You’ll lead network architecture, communication protocols, and system verification to ensure seamless connectivity across our autonomous vehicle platform. Working cross-functionally with firmware, software, and hardware teams, you’ll play a key role in developing a high-performance, fail-safe network for our robotaxi.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $239,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:
Own vehicle network design, including physical design, communication protocols, and key performance attributes (latency, utilization, schedulability)Be an expert user of automotive network technologies including: Automotive Ethernet (including 10Base-T1S), CAN (CAN-FD, CAN XL), FlexRay, and LINLead network modeling, verification, and validation ahead of component builds to ensure robust integrationCollaborate with firmware, software, and hardware teams to support agile development and ensure network healthApply functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles to network design while defining and maintaining Zoox’s internal network standardsQualifications
BS or MS in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in systems design, including 5+ years in automotive networkingExpertise in fail-operational / fail-safe network concepts, diagnostics, and functional safety (ISO 26262)Experience in automotive network design, security concepts, and communication protocolsExperience with vehicle network testing and requirements management tools (IBM DOORS, Siemens Polarion, or similar)Hands-on experience in network verification, supplier evaluation, and system debuggingBonus Qualifications
Experience with Model-Based System Design (MBSD) processesKnowledge of real-time embedded software architecture, such as AUTOSARExperience with advanced embedded software architectures, including Linux
