The Zoox Prototyping Team is responsible for unblocking the intricacies of Autonomous Mobility. Our team serves as a technical hub to resolve any challenges in engineering to develop the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet. As a Senior Validation Engineer, you will actively participate in the brainstorming and the design of new ideas and technologies with the Prototyping Engineering team as well as be responsible for their validation. You will develop a wide range of skills in an iterative prototyping environment as you unlock the future of transportation.

Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $151,000 to $250,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:
Define and design testing and validation procedures and utilities to develop validation master plans, process flow diagrams, test cases, and standard operating proceduresWrite comprehensive test plans based on requirements and analyze validation test dataConduct mechanical and electrical validation of prototyping projectsIdentify, document, and highlight cross-functional validation gaps and dependencies to resolve integration test and validation issuesTroubleshoot and debug issues in the field, and trace failures to subsystems and components by modifying testing methods or revising test objectives and standardsWork closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems engineers to develop modules, systems, and test equipmentQualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience with 6+ being hands-on in testing or validationB.S. in a relevant field such as Mechanical, Robotics, Electrical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or Systems EngineeringExperience using test automation frameworks, such as PyTest or Robot Framework.Experience with test scripting and data analysis languages, such as Python or MatlabKnowledge of electrical systems, embedded systems, physics, and mathematicsUnderstanding of vehicle dynamics and vehicle drive and chassis systems, such as motors, brakes, and steeringBonus Qualifications
