Your role and your team:
We are looking for an outstanding Senior Systems Engineer with electrical engineering background to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility. This position will contribute, as part of an integrated cross-functional team, to the architecture, design, and delivery of the Lilium Jet. In particular, this will include the development of the electrical aspects of the Thermal Management System (TMS) implemented into our e-VTOL.
We are looking to reinforce our TMS team with a senior level professional, able to cover electrical development aspects. The Senior Systems Engineer is part of an interdisciplinary integrated project team responsible for the complete development of electrical aspects of the TMS from architecture definition, through design, verification and certification up to the delivery of the Lilium aircraft.
You will have an opportunity to shape the future of mobility by not only defining TMS, but also by developing components and co-ordinating with regulatory partners and suppliers. Building upon your expertise you'll play a key role in bringing our innovative aircraft to life.
Your Day to Day:
Electrical systems design of the air conditioning and liquid conditioning systems using equipment rated up to 1000 VDC.
Specification of system, subsystem, and component requirements, interface management and detailed design
Support supplier discussion on E&E development topics and equipment qualification
Network and component modelling and simulation, especially regarding electrothermal and transient behaviour
Support of flight testing activities, including analysing data from vehicles and laboratories and drawing conclusions
Performance of troubleshooting, debugging and root cause analysis on vehicles and laboratories
Specification of laboratory testing
Your Profile:
Minimum 10 years of aerospace experience, with good knowledge of a Part 21J design organisation environment.
Experience with aircraft vehicle systems development including collaborative system development with TMS applications preferred
Experience with systems engineering principles (SAE ARP 4754/4761) and airborne hardware and software development processes (RTCA DO-178 and 254)
Experience with certification of aircraft systems, especially coordinating with regulatory authorities and producing certification plans, compliance documents, V&V and test plans
Strong knowledge of standards and good practices in electrical wiring, printed circuits, EMC, bonding, insulation, and related electrotechnical components and materials
Skilled in electrical network modelling and analysis
Skilled in supporting experimental testing of systems and vehicles, including debugging and data analytics
Experience with environmental test standards (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-310) including Electromagnetic Environmental Effects
Experience with managing suppliers
High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous
Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills are required
Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
