Your Role and your Team:

We are looking for an outstanding Senior Energy Storage System Engineer to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility. This position will contribute, as part of an integrated cross-functional team, to the energy systems architecture, design, and delivery of the Lilium Jet. This will include the development of the high power energy storage equipment for our e-VTOL.

 

Your Tasks: 

·       Electrical design of innovative high voltage energy storage systems with focus on electrical topics like grounding and bonding, creepage and clearance analysis and busbar design

·       Specification and Management of System-, Equipment and Component requirements

·       Development and validation of electro-thermal models for battery performance evaluations

·       Specification of V&V strategy and support of laboratory testing and qualification activities

Your Profile:

·       Degree in relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field

·       Min. 6 years of professional experience with high voltage battery systems in aerospace or similar relevant fields (automotive, military, heavy duty)

·       Experience in systems engineering (ARP4754, ISO/IEC 26702 or similar) and (functional) safety (ARP4761, ISO26262 or similar) processes

·       Strong knowledge of industry standards and good practices in battery system design, power distribution, electrical wiring, printed circuits, EMC, bonding, insulation, and related electrotechnical components and materials

·       Experience in defining test plans and designing test setups as well as analyzing test results

·       Skilled in battery system and electrical network modelling and analysis

·       Experience with battery management systems would be beneficial

·       Strong motivation to support build processes and guidelines for battery and power distribution systems

·       High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous

·       Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills are required

·       Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
